Find out what the people want and give it to them!

Find a niche that you are interested in and learn about what they do and what they need and then deliver!

Marketing is not advertising! You don’t want to blow your hard earned money on ads that are not targeted correctly or don’t offer what the user wants.  You need to take some time and learn about the industry of your potential clients and then structure your web hosting offers around them.  Do research, spend time learning about your customers and their needs.  I guarantee your results will be much better if you do your homework.

Think about placing an ad for your web hosting company on a gamer forum, you are offering 1gb of space and 250gb of bandwidth after a month and $100 you only get one sign-up.  You start to wonder why your ad is performing so badly so you do some market research and find out someone else is offering 5gb storage and 50gb of bandwidth, you then start reading on the forum that the gamers like to store their legal mp3s, saved game files, and more on their web hosting account.  These guys aren’t using the web hosting account to run their own site for millions they are using it to store their personal files and share their saved games with friends! They don’t want tons of bandwidth storage is more valuable to them!  If you had done your research before you would have known this and could have probably saved $100 or gotten a lot better response to your web hosting advertisement.

So, do your homework and find out what your potential customers want and then give it to them! If you don’t know your potential market do some more homework and come up with a niche to target.
